"Nice place, but a little confusing to navigate"
It’s a nice place overall, but honestly... we had a hard time figuring out where to go. The signs weren’t super clear, so we ended up getting turned around a few times. Not a huge deal, just kind of frustrating in the moment
"Pretty easy to use overall"
The site was easy to use, honestly. I found what I needed without much trouble, and the layout was clear enough. A couple things took me a second to notice, but nothing too confusing. Overall, it was simple, clean, and got the job done...

"The grounds are really and the..."
The grounds are really and the place has a lot going for it. That said, the staff didn’t seem very willing to help when we needed something, which was frustrating. I think it’s only fair to expect a little more attentiveness, especially when everything else about the place is so nice.

"Nice gardens, but a little underwhelming"
i mean, the gardens definitely have some spots, and it was a nice place to walk around for a bit. But after seeing the photos on maymont.org, I expected a little more. Some areas felt kind of tired, and it didn’t seem as clean or colorful in person as it looked online. It wasn’t a bad visit, just not something I’d go out of my way to see again.

"It’s a really place, but I pretty..."
It’s a really place, but I quickly assumed it wasn’t the best spot for young kids. We ended up dragging them around more than anything, and it got tiring fast. There weren’t many easy places to sit and take a break, and not much to keep them entertained.

"The staff were nice and helped us..."
The staff were nice and helped us out when we had questions, though it did take a little while to actually find someone. Overall it was an okay visit, nothing really bad happened, it just felt.....
"Really enjoyed the mansion tour"
i mean, the mansion tour was better than I expected. Our guide was really nice and knew a ton, but didn’t make it feel boring or too lecture-y. The rooms were beautiful, and it was easy to follow along the whole time. It was also a good length, so we didn’t feel rushed. I’d definitely tell friends to check it out.
"Really nice event at Maymont"
Went to an event at Maymont with my family and we had a really nice time. Parking was easier than I expected, which kind of made the whole event feel smoother right away, if that makes sense. The staff were friendly when we came in too, so that helped set a good mood.
Even though there were a lot of people, it still felt calm and organized, maybe because the grounds are so open or maybe we just got lucky. The food lines were a little long at one point, but not enough to ruin anything. We’d definitely go again.

"The site is fine for basic things..."
The site is fine for basic things, but I got frustrated waiting and clicking around just to find the accessibility details. It felt like it should’ve been much easier, especially for people trying to plan ahead. A few pages also looked cluttered on my phone, which didn’t help. Not a terrible experience, but it could definitely be clearer and quicker to use

"Pretty place, but I felt a little overlooked"
Maymont definitely has some beautiful spots for photos, especially around the gardens and the outside of the mansion. But it was kind of hit or miss for me. It got crowded, and a few areas felt blocked off or hard to access, which made it tougher than I expected. I also felt a bit ignored when trying to figure out where we could go, so the experience wasn’t as smooth as I’d hoped.

"Hit up maymont over the weekend it wasn’t..."
Hit up maymont over the weekend it wasn’t packed at all. There was tons of room to wander around and check everything out without constantly dodging people or waiting around. Super chill vibe, definitely would go back again.

"Cute farm animals, but a bit crowded"
The farm animals were cute, and it was nice to see them up close. It did feel a little crowded, though, so maybe the experience wasn’t quite as relaxing as I expected

"I volunteered at Maymont a few times, or..."
I volunteered at Maymont a few times, or maybe it was over two different weeks, I can’t remember exactly, but overall it was a good experience. The staff were friendly and seemed mostly organized, and the place itself is beautiful. A couple times I wasn’t totally sure where I was supposed to go or what the next step was, but it all worked out. Definitely still felt worth helping out

"Nice place, but the pricing felt a bit much"
I had a decent time here and the place itself is nice, but it felt overpriced for what you get. What bothered me more was that the terms seemed to change from what I expected, which was frustrating. It’s not a bad spot, but I left feeling like it wasn’t really worth the money.

"Maymont was really nice to walk..."
Maymont was really nice to walk around, and the grounds were pretty. I liked the visit overall, but the restroom situation kind of made me side-eye things a bit.
We had to wander around to find one that was actually open, and it felt like they were spaced way too far apart, especially when you’ve got kids with you. The signs weren’t super clear either, which made me wonder if they just don’t want people using certain bathrooms or what.
Not a bad visit at all, just frustrating when you need a quick bathroom stop and it turns into a little mission. I’d still go back, but for that hassle, I’m giving it 3 stars...

"Pretty grounds, but the history felt lacking"
The grounds are really beautiful, and I’m glad I went, but the actual history side felt thin to me. The house tour focused a lot on the Dooleys and the nice rooms, which was interesting enough, but I kept wishing they talked more about the workers and the bigger Richmond history around the place. A couple of the guides were friendly, but overall it felt a little old-fashioned and one-sided, and at times I felt more like a ticket number being moved through than someone they wanted to engage with. I left feeling like they could handle the harder parts of the story much more honestly.

"Fun for the kids, but not anything "amazing""
I took my kids here for the afternoon, and they definitely enjoyed seeing the animals and walking around. It was a nice way to spend a few hours, but I did feel like some areas were a little limited, especially for younger kids. I was expecting a few more "hands-on" things for them to do. Overall, it was still a decent visit and okay for the price...

"Super clean and easy to enjoy"
I went to Maymont last weekend and was surprised by how clean and well kept it was. The paths, bathrooms, and picnic areas all looked taken care of, and even with a bunch of people there, I barely noticed any trash around. If this visit is anything to go by, they seem to do a really good job keeping the place nice. It made the whole day feel relaxed and easy. I’d definitely go back.

"Really enjoyed the wildlife exhibits"
We had a really nice time checking out the wildlife exhibits. The animals seemed happy and well cared for, at least from what I could tell, and the kids absolutely loved it. I wasn’t sure at first if they’d stay interested the whole time, but they were excited pretty much nonstop.

"I booked the tickets quickly..."
I booked the tickets quickly and everything seemed to work fine. I was half-expecting some kind of issue because I’m never totally sure I’m doing these things right, but it was simple and no hassle.
